My name is Sara Bouwmeester, and I graduated as a midwife in 2007. I have been working at this wonderful practice since October 2009. In addition to check-ups, deliveries and postnatal care, you may also encounter me during ultrasounds at the practice.
In 2008, I completed my training as an ultrasound technician. It is a nice addition to the wonderful profession of midwifery. I have a daughter and a son, both of whom are now in primary school.
I would like to contribute to a pleasant pregnancy and a wonderful introduction to your child!

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Sahar Kapan, I am 39 years old, I am the mother of a wonderful son and daughter, and I live with my family in Santpoort. I studied at the Midwifery Academy in Amsterdam.
After graduating, I worked at various midwifery practices. Since 2016, I have been working with great pleasure and passion as a permanent midwife and ultrasound technician at the Ooievaarsnest midwifery practice.
What I find so special about midwifery is accompanying someone through a very important period in their life. Getting to know the client and her partner and ensuring that they experience pregnancy, childbirth and the postnatal period as a wonderful time.
I myself wanted to give birth at home, two wonderful experiences. I wish every woman could have this. My personal goal is autonomy, self-determination, self-confidence and freedom of choice for pregnant women. I am convinced of the power of women, not only physically but also mentally. What I find challenging about midwifery is maintaining the balance between the wishes and needs of the client and her partner and ensuring the safety of mother and child.

My name is Wieneke Stavenuiter, I am 38 years old and have been a midwife since 2012. I was born and raised in Haarlem. After graduating, I worked in The Hague for five years. I am the mother of two children, Milou and Jesse.
After the birth of our first child, we moved back to Haarlem, and since 2021, I have been working full-time at Ooievaarsnest. In addition to my work as a midwife, I am also an ultrasound technician and perform ultrasounds at Ooievaarsnest's own ultrasound centre.
I really enjoy my job; it's such a wonderful profession! I find it very special to be able to follow the journey from pregnancy to birth so closely, to be an important part of it and to be able to mean something to the woman and her partner. No two pregnancies or births are the same, which means that the work always remains special and challenging. Whatever the outcome, I always do everything I can to make it the best possible experience for everyone.

My name is Caresse. I have been working as a midwife here in the region for several years now. In 2018, I obtained my midwifery diploma in Belgium and in 2019, I also graduated as a nurse.

My name is Emily Gohres and I live in Haarlem with my boyfriend, but I grew up in Heemstede. I was born 30 years ago at Ooievaarsnest!! So I feel completely at home in this region and at this practice.
After completing a film degree at the University of Amsterdam and travelling around the world, I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a midwife. I thoroughly enjoy this work and look forward to accompanying you during this special period in your lives. In my spare time, I enjoy going out for dinner, walking my dog, touring on my motorbike, or visiting the dunes.

Welcome to our lovely practice. My name is Willemijn Goedegebuur and I live happily with my husband and three daughters (aged 4, 9 and 11) in Heemstede. I was born and raised in Rotterdam, but studied at the Midwifery Academy in Amsterdam.
I previously worked in a hospital for a few years as a midwife and also as a nurse, including in community care. But my heart lies with midwifery, and I am therefore incredibly happy and proud to be able to work as a midwife again.
In my spare time, I can often be found at the beach. I enjoy having drinks, eating out or cooking myself, tennis, yoga and films. Nice to meet you all!

Being pregnant is a special but also exciting time, and I consider it a privilege to support expectant parents during their pregnancy as an ultrasound technician.
The first image of the baby, seeing the heartbeat for the first time, explaining growth and development; it all contributes to the unique and emotional process of becoming a parent.
I graduated in 2017 and have never regretted choosing this wonderful, challenging and responsible profession. The contact with the pregnant woman, her partner and family, as well as following the development of the baby at every stage of the pregnancy, make my work special every single day.

I am married to Richard and mother to Frederique, Guy and Gaël. Frederique lives in America, and the boys still cosy at home.
In my spare time, I like to read, meet up with friends and regularly stand by the baseball field as my youngest son is an avid baseball player and Richard coaches his team.
I have been working at the Ooievaarsnest since 2025 and I really love it. My colleagues make it great, but above all I find the fact that I get to play a part in such an important event in your lives very special. Every time I hear the heartbeat of a new life I realise how special it is that I get to witness it. So I am really looking forward to seeing you at the practice!

My name is Josseline Veldhuijzen. I live in Spaarndam with Laurens and our three sons, Siem, Olaf and Floris. Since 2022, I have been happily involved in the ins and outs of Ooievaarsnest behind the scenes.
I am originally a midwife and I really enjoy experiencing the profession from a different perspective now. I enjoy everything that comes my way at the practice.
