Always close by

We like to be close and involved in the supervision of your pregnancy, labour and puerperium, but are also involved up to 6 weeks after the birth and offer a follow-up check-up. As midwives, we also make the medical and pre-echo examinations ourselves, in our own indoor ultrasound centre, so you always see a familiar face and remain close to you.

Het Ooievaarsnest stands for committed, personal and expert care. Our experienced team of midwives, ultrasound technicians and assistants is always ready to guide you and your partner through a beautiful and safe transition from pregnancy to parenthood.

A first meeting with your baby

During pregnancy, you can visit our experienced ultrasound specialists for all types of medical ultrasounds. And if you would like to admire your little one even more, you are more than welcome for a pre-analysis (both 2D and 3D/4D).

At the beginning of your pregnancy, there is often a lot going on. Besides discovering the big news, your body undergoes big changes and you are suddenly faced with a lot of information and choices.

Although every childbirth is experienced and goes differently, a picture of your ideal childbirth may develop during pregnancy. Your wishes will guide our guidance around childbirth.

What can you expect after birth?

After the birth, the maternity period arrives. This is what we call the first week after giving birth. The beginning of a special period of first encounters and impressions, a time when you are physically recovering from giving birth, but at the same time discovering the care for your little one.

Contraception

Reliable advice, tailored to your situation

After giving birth, your menstrual cycle resumes. However, it is difficult to predict when your period will return. Some menstruate as early as four weeks after giving birth, others only after stopping breastfeeding, for instance.

We base our care on the latest medical insights and we meet the highest quality standards. Our team consists of 7 permanent midwives, 4 ultrasound surgeons, 2 practice assistants and a practice support worker. But we also have a good collaboration with your GP, the gynaecologist and other specialists in the region.
